On October 21, 2019, members of the Peoria County Bar Association were joined by members of the judiciary as well as Justice Thomas Kilbride of the Illinois Supreme Court to acknowledge the importance of Pro Bono Work.
I was honored to receive the Peoria County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Young Lawyer of the Year award. I am grateful to my firm for allowing me to take time to help those who need an attorney but cannot afford one.
Further, I am grateful to Prairie State Legal Services, especially Managing Attorney Denise Conklin for providing me with wonderful opportunities to help those in the community.
Finally, I find it imperative to mention my father in this award. In our few years of working together he once told me, “Sometimes those who need the help the most are the ones who cannot pay you.”
